    Default Lonely Western Sandpiper

Took this frame as an initial exposure test just after hitting the beach. Was nice and sharp so decided to try to do something creative with it.

Went with exaggerated horizontal crop because I liked the hella smooth negative space. Going for a "small bird, big beach" thing.....

I really love your image design on this one. That and your execution with camera in hand makes it a winner for me. TFS

Like pushing the boundaries (figurative) here Dorian for sure. Super nice warm tones and bkg gradient and love the sand on the beak.

Works as is. Also like these types of frames in a 2x3 or 5x7 with the same room right but equal amounts more up. In other words in bottom left corner.

I'd say it was supposed to be a good day to get out and pop this one right away.

Very nice indeed, the composition works well, the bird looks well detailed and I like the narrow band of in-focus sand.

Killer light and I love the "zen" feeling of this image.
Love the crop and the sand on the bill.

Everything is just too good, Dorian. I mean that in a positive light. Speaking of light, the quality is beautiful. Excellent complimentary warm colors, and like your choice of crop.

Lovely frame. What's not to like here. Love the light and that sand on the bill. The bird works well small in the frame.
