    Default Reddish Egret (Dark Morph)

    I captured this image early morning last Thursday at Ft. Desoto County Park in Pinellas County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, camera and lens supported by a monopod
    1/3200 F/5.6 Highlight Weighted Metering EV 0 ISO 280 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 280mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction when needed
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Joe:

    I like the well exposed egret, raised foot, angle in frame. I really like the dramatic waves in the background, but my try a version with the breaker right behind the bird softened just a bit so it doesn't visually compete so much with the bird.

    Beautiful scene. I really like the waves. Exposure and detail on bird are great, and the raised foot adds some nice action. Head angle isn't quite perfect but still works very well. Curious how a vertical would look; Tall birds in landscape can be tough compositions.

    Hi Dorian, thank you for viewing and commenting. Hope this finds you healthy with Covid and all. How did I know someone would suggest a vertical.... I just happen to have one, but I liked the landscape because the gulf was quite beautiful that day.

    Well i would take eitther. I like the pose and the setting with those waves crashing in the background. The raised foot is nice.

    Ooh I like this a lot! I'm OK with the OP's comp, and the sea looks great. A frame that makes me want to be right there!
