I captured this one just before the Grouse shooting season started on the Estate.....This is a female Red Grouse, in amongst the grasses, keeping an eye on her three Juves which were feeding close by.

This is a very sweet frame to me. Just love the various flowers and the clear view of your subject in spite of the same. TFS

Thanks David...She stood in the same position for a wee while, so I moved left to right, without disturbing her, and the young birds, till I got the best angle, with less grass in front. A wee bit wet, but worth it.

Very nice composition Will. Nice clear subject, great pose and HA. Really love the flora and the rain drops. Hope this one survives the shooting season!

    Will:

This one is excellent, as mentioned, great display of the environment while retaining good view of the subject. Your shuffle paid off nicely. This frame encourages the viewer to scan around and take in all the color, details, textures.

    Worth getting wet for.

    Cheers

Love the setting. The water drops on everything are great. The flowers take it up another notch. Beautiful frame.

Beautiful. I love the setting. The drops add a lot. Do you have a bit more room above? The reds creeping in above look great and it would been nice to see more of it up there. A strong image!

Wonderful image, I like everything in the image, the bird, the flowers, the rain drops and the color palette. One of your best. Thank you for sharing, Will.

Hi Dan, yes I have more room at the top, I'll have another look at that crop.

Will, at first honestly it felt a touch busy for me. But the more I looked at it the more I appreciated the sort of hide-and-seek aspect of it. Bird is sharp and the purple/pink hues add a bunch!

Is it possible there's a bit much magenta? Could just be me, but really appreciate the capture. I am good with the crop.

Hi Brian....thanks for that. I'll have another look at the RAW and reduce magenta, see if it makes a difference.
