Canon EOS 1D Mark II. Canon 600mm EF- F/4-in aperture priority. Shot at F/4, 1/6400 sec at ISO 200 on May 29, 2009 at 9:40 am in Allendale, NJ.

Like many others, I have seen birds harassing other birds quite often but this was the first time I ever saw contact like this. Merlin says the attacking bird could be a Fish Crow but my guess is a Grackle. It was taken at my favorite birding spot in NJ, the Allendale Celery Farm Natural Area.

I would have kept the 2 x 3 crop, nice action, too bad head of Osprey turned away.
It is sharp, a nice capture.

Hi jerry cool shot and interaction, osprey angled away from the viewer noted. The IQ has suffered quite a bit to the point that it has a paintary look (like watercolor painting) lots of noise.... looks like it was blown up beyond 100% (digital zoom?)

Pretty neat action you witnessed here! A while ago too eh - an oldie but goodie I agree with the previous critiques, especially in regards to image quality that has taken a hit from a big crop. I too think it looks more like grackle due to the tail and overall size of the bird compared to the osprey.

    P.S. Welcome to BPN!

Thank you all for your kind and constructive comments. I was aware of the poor IQ probably due to a combination of a large crop and poor Photoshop techniques. I also think I am loosing some IQ in trying to reduce the file size. I'll post some shots with little cropping and see what you think. I respect your opinions as well as your work a great deal and at age 86 still believe that you can teach an old dog new tricks! Looking forward to this new experience.
