I was set up hoping for Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers to land on this perch when this young Brewer's Sparrow landed and posed.

You may notice the title ties in here. I was elated to come across some open fields with this shrub, Curl-leaf Mountain Mahogany, which features some fun and unique blooms.

LR and PS. Did move the end blooms further up the perch a bit to fit the frame better.

David - thank you. The BG is the sun coming up against the next mountain over with a couple green and yellow bushes (you'll see when I post the Gnatcatchers)

Ian - thanks for the kind words. I have been using audio on the BG's, will have pics up soon. Fun subjects

Spectacular perch that would look at home in an Audubon painting, and it stands out nicely against that BG. Nice looking sparrow that would be a rarity in my neck of the woods.

How lucky you are to have the Curl-leaf Mountain Mahogany in your neck of the woods. The Brewer's Sparrow works quite nicely. I like the soft colors under this light.

Beautiful perch Brian...Wished we got that tree/shrub over here. Lovely detail and pose on the bird, I like how the colours on the bird compliment the perch.

Boy o boy what a perch on this one. The bird is framed perfectly as well. Nice detail. The diffused light is lovely here.
