This Gray Treefrog (they can change colors from gray to green to match their surroundings) is hiding in plain sight on an ostrich fern frond. It stayed there all day. Nikon D850, Sigma 150mm macro, 1/250, f/11, ISO 640, Venus Optics KX-800 macro twin lite, manual 1/16, diffused, HH. Cropped for comp. Photoshop, NIK, Topaz Denoise AI.
I can see how he could easily be overlooked, I guess he is pretty small and his colouration looks optimal for his surroundings. I wonder if they are capable of altering their colouration, not as much as an octopus but just by a few mild nuances?
I like the image and the composition, it holds my attention, sharpness processing etc tickety boo.
