    Hi Joe,

First, it's great to see an Oystercatcher at any time, but especially a reminder of a time when we could travel easily. Like this capture a lot as he's out for a stroll looking for the next sign of a sand crab. As harsh as the sun is you've kept good detail in the blacks and whites, and I like the raised foot. Nice smooth surf in the background.

Wonderful EXP, colors and details. The strolling pose and HA put it over the top for me. TFS

Spot on oystercatcher frame. The raised foot is nice and the foamy water line as well. Nice detail on the bird.

Great walking pose, head angle, background. Good light. I find the angled stick(?) behind the bird to be an unfortunate distraction.

Good low angle, good colours, and walking stride. I agree the vegetation pointing at the OC is bad luck. A bit less of a head angle would have avoided the shadow in the eye and on the neck. Is this the individual that had a piece of plastic tightly wrapped around its' leg? I see a trace there on the far foot that would indicate it.

Hi Dan, thank you for viewing and commenting. Yes, this is the same bird that had the plastic fishline around the leg. When Gail was there she saw it and notified the ranger to remove it. I think sometimes removing objects common to the setting, such as the seaweed in this image, makes the image too sterile, not natural looking. I left it in the image because it was natural to the beach. Here is an edit and repost with it removed.

Glad to see the OC had recovered! As for removing objects, I understand, but here it's just the weed's size/shape and projection that was unfortunate. Had it been nicely arched or curved it would have been excellent. The scene does not always cooperate though at time of capture though! Thanks for the update on the bird, and the repost.
