This is the same baby Spotted Sandpiper I posted earlier this summer. It had been out of the nest for mere minutes at the time this image was created. It took a small break from walking and bobbing around, and looked straight down the barrel here before it resumed exploring its' newly found freedom. Witnessing these young ones walk out of the nest made for a morning I won't soon forget!
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/5.6, ISO 800, naturallight, handheld (while lying prone on the ground), FF, removed a blue cast to the stones.
Randy, I have to admit that I am pretty excited about Canon's mirrorless offerings (R5 and R6). I was worried about the new mount rendering my lenses obsolete, but from I've seen this is a non-issue with the adapter, and performance even BETTER than DSLRs. I'm hoping they come out with a 7D line equivalent soon, but even if not I predict I will be mirrorless a year from now
A fine shot Dan good colours details and exposure. I suspect the details would be enhanced a little if the brightness was lowered just a little but looks good as is.
Nice ....Great POV...Beautiful colours throughout and pleasing to the eye. I'm pretty excited about the mirrorless from Canon aswell...esp being able to use the lenses I already have.
Another Cadieux classic shot! Love the softness of the bird and how the the FG/BG support the overall mood of the image. Agree with Brian's cloning suggestion. The R5/6 looks good from what I've seen coupled to existing EF lenses via the adapter. Shame that the overheating issue exists for video (not that I do much video)...just can't believe Canon released these with that issue.
This is superb Daniel.
I have no idea how you managed this shot. My local spotted sandpiper parents would never let me get this close unless I was in a blind. But maybe you were in a blind?
Love the intimate view created by your low POV. The direct gaze is perfect.
I would clone out that bright spot on the right side of face.
The OOF green foliage is perfect. Just the right amount and in all the right places.
Well done!
Gail
Hi Dan, kept looking at this throughout the day, really precious, well done Dan capturing this lil treasure... I'd suggest taking some off the bottom, bc it seems to give it an even more intimate view, with just a lil of that scrape that becomes more pronounced. Tops from me to you Dan!
Too bad that this is perfect. BTW, order the adapter now as it will take a year to get one! ps: the extra d-o-f that you get with a crop body helped here by getting the bill sharp. Envious :)
with love, a
