    I captured this image at the north lagoon in Ft. Desoto County Park, Pinellas County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, camera and lens supported by a monopod
    1/1600 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 500 Auto WB, image captured at 400mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Joe:

    Very nice soft plumage, head angle, soft light, water with some detail (ripples) without being distracting. I think there are several good options on cropping this one. Because of the birds pose, a vertical crop would work well also.

    Love the soft light and that white against the green. A vertical could also work well. TFS

    Randy and David, thank you for viewing and commenting. I so have a vertical worked up but I am fond of negative space in a image. This repost I tightened the crop, looking at the original post I thought there was too much negative space.

    The white bird goes great against that green water. I like those ripples as well. Preening pose is anoter bonus.
