    Jon:

Dramatic pose, like the dorsal view, flared feathers, open bill, feet. Nice bg and well exposed.

A bit more DOF would be nice. Your starlings are so much more attractive than ours!

    Cheers

Thanks Randy, glad you liked it. These are juveniles hatched a few weeks back, just beginning to get the spotted adult plumage. I keep the aperture fairly wide to minimise ISO and background detail.

I appreciate that it is always a trade off, and with in flight shots, not time to change your settings during the sequence, usually!

Jonathan, neat capture of this little tyke. Cool to see the plumage changes here and a nice, rich bkg to go with.

Would love maybe a bit more of the eye and as Randy mentioned, maybe a touch more detail on the posterior wing but overall a nice frame!

A dynamic flight capture, Jonathan. Neat to see the iridescence starting to show, and feather patterns developing. Like the background as well.

Jon, Ive enjoyed staring at this lil guy that seems very self assured and learning how to pave the way. Just love the coloring and the translucent greens and iridescence against the neutral tan feathers. BG compliments nicely, looking forward to more of this young one. TFS

Very nice. Looks like an Alan Murphy image.
