Wow, nicely frozen in flight, I think the blurred wingtips convey movement and I like the way the tail is in the braking position. its colors are beautiful, especially the iridescence on the head and neck. To me there seems to be a bit of noise in the wings. The BG makes it stand out very nicely.

Ahhh, to sit on the porch and point your rig at beauties like this. Nice and SH with BG to help show off the details and colors. TFS

    Bill:

What a lovely bird. Like the pose, slight tip to both wings can be seen, Nice use of flash.

    Cheers

What beautiful plumage, and I love the sideways tail flare. The eye looks a bit wonky (sorry for the lack of a better term) with an sort of jagged circumference, and an almost too black colouring...some steel-eye correction perhaps? Anyhow, all else looks darn fine to me though.

Bill, love the colors, pose and framing. The eye also looks a bit overworked compared to the rest of the bird to me.

Do you know which species of Hummer it is?

Thank you all. Daniel, the irregular circumference of the eye is natural, and shows that way in the RAW file. I did remove the flash catchlight, and a bit of hazy area in one portion of the eye, presumably from the flash.

    Brian, check the title.

Great pose and I love the tail.
Before I read your comments, I too thought the eye looked a bit blurry.
    All else looks good,

Thank you all. There is indeed a somewhat blurry area around the catchlight - must have been a hasty eye doctor when first processed. I've cleaned it up a bit. The iris is still very dark. The eye circumference is as per the RAW file.

The white tail is pretty neat. The repost does look sharper.
