    I captured this image of a Little Blue Heron in 2014 at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, camera and lens supported with a monopod
    1/640 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1 ISO 1400 Auto WB, image captured at 400mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Hi Joe. Beautiful colors of bird and background. I love the range of feather sizes on these guys. Nice pose. Might use just a touch of selective sharpening on the top of the head where the DOF fell off.

    Strong stare, great detail, and beautiful colors, but I think you're really caught in no-man's land with the crop. It's either gotta be a tighter headshot or a looser body which includes the full legs.

    The color and feathers on the bird look very nice. Agree about the crop. All the bird or more tight of a portrait.
