    Hi Folks:

Visited my favorite Madera Kubo B&B, Madera Canyon, AZ today and captured this little guy in dappled shade using fill flash. Would have liked a nice light sunny BG, but beggars can't be choosers. Was lucky to see the Flame colored tanager, and took a dozen photos in good light about 30' feet away. Was actually looking for the Berylline Hummingbird, but, as usual for the last 3 days he waits around the corner until I leave. No regrets as I got some decent photos of the always moving Bridled Titmouse who has been laughing at my slowness for months . . . . . Gus :o

Hmmm...looks a bit dark though even with your fill flash. Otherwise, good capture.

Great pose and exposure on the bird Gus A more even colored bg would have helped I'm tempted to suggest to give this a different bg since it such a goo capture !!! I like it a lot !!!

Al, I'm not very good at this, but used to work with Stationary so i'll give it a go . . . done mostly in Paint shop pro, but ended up with some quick mask on wing edges with CS3. Not perfect by any means, however, I think this is along the lines you mentioned . . thanks for your positive comments on original capture . . . Old Gus, 84 going on 16 :D

    Hi Folks:

When it's all said and done, I like the portrait version the best . . IMHO . . . Gus :D

hi gus!! looking good!!! i like your second repost better with the lightening of the bird. i would just work the brighter areas of the bg and tone/darken them. if you are using photoshop i know the viveza plug in would work well for doing this task.

nice job with changing the bg!!! wow, that's a big change, but i like the original a bit better.
