    The previous post was an exotic snail (bigger). This is the native apple snail plus a fresh water mussel shell. Got some late afternoon light on this one.

    Yes! I like this one, it has far more impact, the surroundings are busy but they are busy so from my POV that is just fine. The main thing for me is the image is telling me to look at that big shell, and for reference there is another shell that I can recognise as a mussel shell. I like the low angle, I think a higher angle would have not been at all beneficial.

    Much better than the first version. Closer subject at eye level works a lot better. I also like the clam shell next to the main shell.

    I, too, like this image more than the previous one. Good sharpness on the snail and the lighting helps to bring out its texture. I'm not sure if I like the mussel shell - for me, it tends to draw my eye away from your main subject. There are several small bright areas scattered throughout the frame that catch my eye. You might consider cloning or toning them down. Overall, this is nicely done!

    Even better than the last one. Really like that fibonacci spiral the shell makes.
