    I captured this image at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, camera and lens supported by a monopod
    1/1250 F/8 Matrix Metering EV +1 1/3 ISO 1800 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 330mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Love those plumes. The lores are nice and blue. Framing is right on. Maybe warm it up a little bit.

    I love the light here, and the perfect amount of contrast. I also love the flowing plumes behind. The bill is peeling more the I would ideally like, but that is not anything you can control - still a great bird. I do find the heron low in the frame - pointing down a bit more wold have been good.

    Beautifull detail in the feathers, and the curve of the neck leads my eye to the heron's. The BG makes it stand out very nicely. I also like the texture of the beak.
