    I made this image in Bluffdale, UT. This is a new location close to my home.
    I have been taking evening/morning walks with my new 500 PF lens.
    This was off Sun Angle and I got lucky with this as the sun was behind the clouds when I pressed the shutter.

    Camera Settings:-
    ===============
    Nikon D850 500 PF + 1.4 x TCII
    1/800 sec; f/8; ISO 1250
    Manual; Matrix metering

    Post Processing:-
    ===============
    Raw Processing using C1P 20
    Heavy Crop
    Nik 25-25 Filter on Bird at reduced opacity
    Tonal Adjustments in Viveza
    Neat Image NR
    Sharpening for Presentation
    Dodge selectively
    Cloned distracting elements and few branches

    Let me know your thoughts and comments.

    Thanks
    Krishna

    nice find Krishnan, I like the way he is holding to the perch. I'd crop this tighter and get rid of the 2nd offshoot, it doesn't have any flowers, leaves or moss making it a bit of an eye sore. wish you had more detail in the blk's

    Hello Krishna,
    congrats on your new lens, i have that combo as well and love it. I like the pose and fluffed head feathers, nice yellows and in focus bird to the nails. Would like some black details. I echo suggestions above , wish there was a perch w more interest or BG that knocked socks! Anyway I certainly understand you shoot sometimes with what is "there" however, I realize i try to also be more discriminating when a bird shows... I do like the thorn on the branch any idea what bush or tree? Was it a Hawthorn? Looking forward to more with your new lens.

    I do not know what is the bush or tree. I will revisit the place and try to take a picture of the leave to find out.

    I like the look back pose. I could see this cropped more from the top right. Detail on the goldfinch looks nice.

    Maybe a bit off the top and the right but I love this one including all the sticks that frame and balance the image perfectly. Love that curious head position. And the blessedly soft light.

    Like everything about this capture, Krishna. Especially like that you kept the AMGO close to his actual size. Beautiful colors throughout, lovely background, and excellent perch.
