Hi Brian, certainly your postings are a big transformation from simply changing Converters, what a difference.

I like the simplicity, but agree that there is too much at the foot and cropping will benefit the image. Certainly you are now pulling far more detail out, creating more subtle detail to come out too within the darks. Overall I like the green backdrop, but can't help feel things are perhaps being subtly 'muted' and so some of the richer colours ie the lovely orange comes through more?

Just a thought and my take Brian on the posting as I'm now back home, probably way off...

Beautiful bird, about as perfect a perch as can be had. For composition I like your repost better than the original post. I like Steve more muted colors better, maybe reducing the contrast but that is personal to me. Lovely image, thank you for sharing, Brian.

The electric blue is still looking a bit 'harsh', not sure Hue works, but try both Sat & Lum, however remember this is a 'Global' adjustment so it effects everything.

Steve, yeah the repost is better. I find myself preferring a bit more saturation and boldness, maybe that will change over time. This was a bit overexposed too which probably enhance the 'electricity' :-)

Brian, it's that old chestnut, do we produce something we 'like' or try to go for something that is more of a 'perceived representation', my only guide is, does the subject look that saturated in real life, or has Walt Disney had a hand in things and therefore do I need to peg or remove a particular adjustment? Yes, extreme I know, but not saying that it is here, just a phrase.

I like the originaal post best, especaially the wider fraaming. As presented, is it 3X2? Looks clooser to 4X2 but I love it and I love the spot that you cropped it. And the original colors too.
