Ok trying to get out of my comfort zone and create a more dramatic frame with Artie's famously coined 'blackground'. Something a little unique.

This Snowy Egret with the cool Angel wings was the subject. The light is at a pretty crazy angle but illuminated the head too thankfully. And left some moss for perspective.

If it doesn't work please just say so.

Post in LR and PS, DNAI. Added bit of canvas to bottom and right as this is not a large crop. Some bkg clean up.

(Oh and that green bit on the brow looks like moss from fishing)

Hi Brian. Works for me just fine! Love the dynamic pose, whites look good, and the BG really works well to contrast with the Egret. My only nitpic is the oof reflection square bits at bottom left...were they added in your canvas extension?

Thanks for the keen eye and comments Paul. Only about have those squares were added on; in other words the upper part were organic to the RAW frame. I could surely blend/clone those.

Hi Brian, dramatic pose, love the position of the legs and feet. White look good, as does the exposure. I might lighten the background so see if the bill would stand out more, it kind of gets lost in the dark background. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice low key image. I would use level with Luminosity masks to brighten up the whites a little more.

Joe - thanks for that idea and the feedback
Krishna - appreciate the comments. I actually pulled the whites back some in LR tonal adjustments and was pretty happy with where they are. I also could probably stand a tad more but working on not posting over-brightened images which was a season for me.

WW, The WHITEs look good to me. But the image is an "almost" because of the dark fat line above and in front of the eye. At first I thought that it was a saddle but I think that it might be dirt ... If the latter, I would clean it up ...
