From the same Great-crested Flycatcher nest. On a couple of occasions the parents would stage in the branches near the nestbox before coming down to deliver the food. This time around, a delicious moth was on the menu, with bonus eggs squeezed out of it as well. Sunny-side up please!

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/250s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, darkened the near wing of the moth via burn tool, NR to the BG. Pishing noise used to get the flycatcher to turn its' head.

    Daniel:

Great prey item, love the colors, subdued, evocative of the woods. For me the green bg just works better than the black. Lots of detail in the perch without being distracting.

    Cheers

Love the setting and the eggs and bacon!
You did really well to get this guy sharp at 1/250.

Hi Daniel, lovely image. Looks like a dark Spruce forest. Sharp where it counts. The moth really takes the image up the scale. Exposure, shadows and highlights spot on as always. Thank you for sharing.

Very Nice Image love the prey and eggs. Does stopping down to f/8 helps here ?
Probably not practical considering the lighting situatation and shutterspeed (Specially hand holding the lens)
