Thats nice Paul.A beautiful bird even they are now common,Used to be called a Maned Goose as well.I like the light reflection off the water.Varies the background nicely
Great lighting, composition and background on this one, as well as excellent detail and sharpness. I agree with Ian that the area of highlight on the water left of the bird serves to nicely balance the composition, and I like the way the curve of it mimics the curve of the bird's neck. It's good sometimes to have some detail in the background that identifies the environment, but what's particularly good here is that the area of BG detail is around the reflection highlight, whereas the BG behind the bird is mostly soft and subdued, focussing attention on the bird.
Thank you Jim & John.
John: Yes, that's what I thought when I took the shot...but on checking the id it is a Wood Duck. I have others with bigger heads...lol
Jim: You've got a keen eye...I didn't really pick up on that!
Hi Brian. Thank you so much for the kind feedback. The highlights were actually brighter, but I toned them down a little..maybe they need more...easy to do. Cheers!
This is an excellent frame Paul!
Love the BG and that bit of blue on the LHS.
Light and IQ of the image is great. Your techs are good at f 8.
Well done,
Gail
