I think this is a real gem! The composition is really appealing, the rim lighting is absolutely super, the baboon is beautifully delineated and the long expanse of rim light ground is just about perfect. I would be delighted to have an image like this.

I think it's utterly fabulous Mark and personally love the way the rimlight sits on the log, it very much adds to the frame for me

You've got this one just right Marc, sometimes the rim lit shots struggle to define the animal, but this one is clear and obvious, a really well executed frame

Hey Marc, I knew that this was yours from the thumbnail. It is a real stunner and the backlit log adds a lot. If the baboon had turned its head just a bit toward you, the backlight on the snout just below the eyes would have been reduced a bit. And I think that that would have improved an already fabulous image.
