When I saw this frame of the computer, the childhood song came into my mind immediately!

Terrific moment. Subjects and tree look sharp throughout, and the two poses are angled perfectly for you. Too bad the adult's eye is closed, but he didn't want his eye poked out. Good frame.

Wonderfull moment captured so well, along with neat childhood memories, Gail. Especially like the closed eye of the parent.

Perfect, the light, the tones, the details, the interaction and full frame composition. TFS

Love the title. A nice moment for sure. The behavior is great. I like the framing. Detail looks very nice as well. These birds aren't very common where i live. I see them once in awhile. Congrats on all your contests wins this year. Looks like you have that new body paid for.

nice interaction BG a tad distracting but not bad, colors are a bit muted on my screen and there is some noise on mom's belly. there is quite a bit of pixlation artifacts in the BG....

Great interaction.. sharp, you did well in subdued light. A bit too much tree for me, maybe
some off right side and top to just below the leaves.

Gail, I really love the scene here. You captured it and timed it fantastically.

I see similar things as mentioned by Ari; the bkg and the colors maybe just a tad but the bkg pixelations for certain. I didn't notice the noise in the adult belly as much.

I presume you had a fair amt of noise cleaned up with DNAI? I noticed the same thing I notice on my photos which is some artifacts around the bird that comes from the DN process, usually on the bkg layer but at times on the bird masked layer. I notice here pretty significantly on both my large and small monitors along the bark of the tree, above the bird, and below the wing feathers and tummy of the adult. What I have to do is go clone stamp at 100%, usually on the bkg layer, but around the entire bird just outside of the bird outline. Then I might have to use the eraser around the bird on the bird layer. Point being, I see the same artifacts here.

    You are an inspiration. TFS.

    Thanks Arash and Brian.
Something weird happened when going from the TIFF file to the JPEG. The TIFF is beautifully clear with no pixellation. There is very little noise in the RAW or TIFF but I did use DenoiseAI on the BG only.
I will rework the file and thanks for the eyes on this.
Ever since the last major update with PS and CC, I have been struggling with the PP. Not sure why. Time for some homework and detective work.

FWIW, if I make a levels adj and reduce the mid or white slider on a bkg with DNAI it can do some funky stuff.

The silhouette noise around the bird has been happening more consistently on my end too, unfortunately when I mask the bird and run Topaz below. I may start trying a global 3/3 or 5/5 DN and then mask the bird.

Good behavioral shot in nice light and good IQ.
The bit sticking out under the lower belly could be removed. What is it?

A very nice find you have there Gail. I am good with the closed eye of the adult. What a perfect angle you caught of the exchange.

Hey Gail, congratulations, I just received the magazine with the photo contest awards. Nice intimate image. JPEG compression can cause artifacts, the original I am sure is without the ones noted. Thank you for sharing.
