Chestnut Headed Bee Eater
Taken earlier in the year in the state of Penang, Malaysia.
The mid day sun made it difficult to prevent blowing the highlights. Cropped in square format to give it that little bit more room to the right.

Excellent colours & details. Nice BG to go with. Like the way the tongue is sticking out.
How about a vertical crop...?

Looks like a good job on exposure. Great color and detail. The square crop works well on this one.

Nicely done Phil! Thanks for posting!
Great capture with a wonderful pose and a killer BG. Your timing was perfect to capture the open beak and tongue. Thanks for sharing.
I like the details, BG and open bill. I might crop some off the right for a vertical crop. Keep them coming!

Vertical crop would be a strong alternative, I agree. Everything else looks great, very well presented.
Thanks all for the feedback. I have tried the vertical crop but found it a tad tight so I preferred this one, however your opinions are well noted.
Very very nice!! A more vertical crop, some off the left, more off the right.., or a full horizontal if you have the canvas., I guess I just don't like the square crop, but it is a great image.
