    I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, camera and lens supported by a monopod
    1/1600 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1 ISO 450 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 400mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Good pose with the red looking good.
    Maybe a bit flat overall?

    I do not know the quality of the lens you use, but a lot of images like this should be sharper at these settings.
    Maybe just bad flat light.

    Hi Dan, thank you for viewing and commenting. The light was very flat, gray, overcast, the background is what the sky looked like.

    A lovely pose on this bird. Neat how the breast feathers are fluffed out a little. I would be tempted to remove the stick out the back.
