    Here is another skimmer frame to go with the topside I posted a while back. BG is the marshes where these guys hang out in the evening

    Nice one, Arash. Love the lighting and detail on the bird, also the overall 'zip' of the colors. I think the shot is also helped by the linear pattern in the BG tending towards the diagonal, which seems to give an added sense of speed to the bird. They are great photogenic subjects.

    Hi Arash, I like the almost diagonal strips of the BKG, a kind of graphic backdrop which makes the subject pop nicely. Lovely pose and cool details overall.

    I guess you will be skipping the new 12mm lens then?

    Handheld flight photography at 120omm is not garbage ... SH is amazing. My only wish is that the bird were not flying so close to the BKGR.

    have a couple with farther BG, somehow I like the elements of habitat in this closer BG but some will like the smoother BG better

    I prefer the BG here, a lot of skimmer photos, this is different.

    Lovely light, pose, detail. I like the BG here, but also some of yours that are smoother. Nice to have some of both in the portfolio. This one has a painterly quality to it.

    Great view of this skimmer. I don't mind the background. Makes for a pleasing image.
