My warbler project continues. Because of COVID, my 3 birding trips were cancelled. This has forced me to explore my own backyard and I must say, that I am pleased
with all the birds I have found. I have now recorded 4 lifers, including this warbler.
I saw the warbler high in the trees and used audio to coax him down.
    Canon 1 DX3, 600mm
ISO 1250 1/800 @5.6. Shot from car on a beanbag.
PP:Crop to 65% FF, cloned out 1 branch above warbler's head and painted in some green to a very bright tip of branch.

Great pose, perch and background. These guys can be very amenable to audio coaxing. Unfortunately they don't live around here, but only pass through during migration. I might consider a little eye-doctor work.

This has a very nice painter look to me, I really like the OOF vegetation behind the bird, adds to the scene.

Hy, I like the way you composed the picture, the leaning branch leads your eye to the bird. The bg is beautiful and it makes the bird stand out and it matches its colours. As for PP input, I'm too much of a newbie, cant even get the **** lasso tool working for now:)

Very pleasing to the eye Gail....Love the colours throughout. Nice crop and fab pose and detail on the bird. Good DOF.

Gail, what a blessing in disguise that you get to shoot these in light of the health and economic climate. This is a lovely frame!

It feels to me the darks are a touch dark - even considering it's a BLACK throated Warbler. That said, I know you like to leave shadows as they come out of camera often (according to a reply from you a few weeks ago). Just something to consider.

Perhaps a touch of a green cast on my monitor?

Also, I think your notorious eye catchlight touch would also be good here :-)

I really like the image Gail but it does appear to have a colour cast. I know I am not the world's best at correcting casts but I have an alternative for your consideration

Well i would take this for sure. Really digging that sleek pose. The bird picked a perfect spot to perch.

Thank you all! I must have had a glass of wine too many because I agree about the green cast and did not see it when processing!
Thanks for the eyes every one!
