Another white breasted Nuthatch on the iconic Ponderosa Pine bark
in Central Oregon Cascades.
I was really happy to get one at eye level in the dark woods.

Excellent DOF on this little guy. It is really hard to get a topside view that has the entire body in focus. And you got 80% of the bird in excellent focus.
How big of a crop?
Classic nuthatch pose with excellent details and the bark gives nice texture to the image. The rust color adds a nice pop of color.

I like this lots. Tough getting people excited about nuthatches and chickadees, but man are they ever beautiful - and if they were "rare" birds people would be flocking to them to get a chance at images. and then oohing and aahing. I love the tree bark texture and colour.
Dan, a really good frame in terms of subject, composition and sharpening. My only nit would be whether the whites are truly white as they seem to have a yellow hue to me. You were there, but maybe worth a second look?
