Neat pose and perch. You did an excellent job of evening out the exposure. And the image is quite sharp. Lower would have been better.

I like the light, there are some strong artifacts around the head area. some feathers go missing... looks like a cut and paste , happens when you mask the bird and blur the BG

Hi Arash, No masking, no blur. Thanks for the input. At 2.8 and this close, the BG falls off quickly. I don't see artifacts...

halo is quite visible from here, it doesn't look natural to me but maybe I am just imagining things

Nice shot. I like the light, the composition and the pose. Details look good and the exposure seems to be well chosen for the situation.
I would darken the pupil to give it a more natural and sharper look. Not the biggest fan of the pattern of such grass but it works okay here.

Yea, I think the perch is kinda fun. I though it was a big, buttressing root as soon as I saw it. Bird is nice and sharp, and he has a nice engaging look. Biggest issue here is uneven lighting left to right across the perch and the vacuous top part of the frame. Background blur is a bit uneven, but I wouldn't spend tons of time working on it. It is what it is.

Nice pose. The exposure is right on. I could see some more room below and less above.
