    Default Misty Morning Loon

This male common loon was captured a few years ago. Cool misty morning in a quiet back bay. Liked the soft light and reeds.

D4. 600VR. f/6.3. ISO 2000. Better Beamer. Taken from my little loon boat.

Post: LR, PS2020. Crop top and bottom, added bit of canvas on the left. Cleaned up pupil and a few tiny spots in the water.

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

    Cheers

    Loon Lord!

It's crazy the shots you come up with, wow.

This one is another spectacular one, however those vertical striations on left and right of the bird are bothersome for my eyes. Perhaps smooth those out?

Also, seems to be quite a bit of blue on the bird, not sure if that is due to the sky or the lighting - top of head and bird's right side seems most apparent. Maybe it's true to the setting.

    Great job overall!

That's funny, the peering through the reeds feeling is what I like most about this one. Great view of that eye. Still want to see your boat... TFS

My first thought was "wow"...love the whole composition...the checkerboard style in the body/reflection, the clarity/sharpness of the neck/head and that eye! The small water droplets on the neck add a nice touch. Nice smooth BG. TFS

A very nice view of this loon. Love the water drops on the head. A good pose as well. The green water is another plus.

A Beautiful image Randy. The water droplets on the head makes the image for me.

Thanks everyone for your input. I certainly do like a clean canvas in many cases, but I like the framing aspect of the reeds and will keep them.

    Appreciate input!

Cracking frame, and I like the bokeh from the reeds. Exposure and detail are perfect. Only thing I might suggest is warming the frame a bit as it feels a tad cold as is.
