Default All Puffed Up For The Ladies...

I captured this image of a male Anhinga at the rookery in the alligator breeding pond in Gatorland, Orlando, Florida. As I study the image I am struck how the feathers on the neck look like fur, it must be a adaptation to help them swim. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Hi Joe,

Wonderful portrait in nice light. Like the look back pose, and that beautiful maroon eye. Great background with a slight touch of blue sky.

Love the pose, EXP, details and the way he fills the frame. Another JP classic... TFS

A very solid portrait. The head angle and pose are dead on. Beautiful feathers on the bird.

Joe, fine colors and details here. Looks great!

Perhaps a little more on the left?

Killer feather detail and eye contact! The face and beak are money. I also want more room on the left. Cramped as is.

Thanks everyone for viewing and commenting, much appreciated. I also thought there should be more room on the left side, I posted the image as it was because I had captured the image as a vertical. Here is a edit and repost where I added canvas on the left side.
