    Very dynamic pose, but the side lighting really works against you because the bird isn't evenly lit. It's also difficult to pick out the head against the body, and I think a shot
    with the neck extended away from the body would work better.

    You got lucky with the head turn so that it was lit well by the sidelight. And I like that the head is set nicely inside the wing. In other words, I like this a lot! Different strokes ...

    I like it too. A very unique pose. I do think there needs to be more room at left, but I find that this is a fun image of the egret!
