I like this, a nice action Loon frame.
I would go a lot looser with the crop, if you have it.

Pretty cool capture Andrew, as if the bird was skimming across the water. Would agree on a looser crop, but same format. You currently have some excellent Avian shots Andrew, I hope you post them...

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.

Excellent capture of loon rowing. Always a fun thing to experience. I assume there were other loons about, as usually this is a social gathering type of behavior.
The lighting is nice, good angle in the frame, and yes to more room if you have it, nice to show the splashing. Good exposure too.

The lighting is killer. You've really highlighted the beautiful green sheen on the head amidst the action. You nailed the focus on the face, but I do wish for a bit more depth of field across the body.
Not mush you can do about that now, but you can loosen the crop as others have suggested. He's really cramped as it. I'd probably double the number of pixels you include as he's SO close to
the left edge.
Nica as above. If this if full frame you will not be able to add any canvas ...

Bummer about the tight framing, but everything else works for me. I love the mirror reflection despite the furious action and the painterly strokes in the water in that area.

I applied a bit of a crop from the bottom and right side as the loon was positioned a little too close to the left side of the original comp....on the bright side the original capture will allow for a square crop for the calendar companies :)
All that splashing water is great. Light is nice as well.
