Same individual that I posted recently, he was a real fun warbler to work. The particular pose and shallow dof gave the image a 3D feel, I think.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1000s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, small crop to help the comp (90% FF), usual eye work, NR to the BG (but now I see that it could use a bit to the belly and tail too). Subject coaxed closer via audio.

Daniel, can't get enough of this little guy.

I like the creativity here with the dof to a degree but it's hard not to want the full bird. Think you got just enough to be a stellar image! Good call on the underside noise.

Hi Dan, love the unique Black and White Warbler. Processing spot on as always. I wish you had taken off the 1.4 for more depth of field, the focus falls off quickly away from the head. I would like to have seen the legs and feet in focus. Thank you for sharing.

So nice to have this guy so close! We don't have these out west - except as vagrants - but I remember them from my time in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia.

The proximity and head-on angle make for a really unique and engaging frame, and the flight light really maximized detail on this high-contrast subject. I ususally
like in-focus feet but think this image can get away without them. Moss/Lichen on tree is a nice touch.
