    Default Osprey Tern Shake

Might as well post this for interest..
I took this the other day after an Osprey missed a fish but did full plunge
which I wish I had got...
They don't miss that often, this one missed 3 times before it did
get a nice catfish which I did get..
I thought this was more interesting, an almost Tern shake I have not seen before
and I see a lot of Ospreys. The next frame it flipped almost upside down but
    zero head turn.
Of course I wish the eye was not nictitating...but I like the shake.

Good capture Dan, I have seen the Osprey around my area do this.
Not sure you would get this without the nictitating because they instinctively look after their eyes.

The shake off is great. The water droplets as well. Looks like it needs to be warmed up some.

Love the water drops and the BG.
Nothing you can do about the nictitating membrane. In fact, it would look weird if it was not there because the eye is always protected during a shake.
I do wish the osprey was a bit lower in the frame so as to not intersect with the transition line from dark blue to light blue.

never seen this pose before in an osprey, you captured well. I only wish the light angle was a bit better, terns do this and their nictitating membrane is also always closed so it is a natural behavior
