I managed to get this little sparrow to hold still for a moment in a nice pose, on a November day just before sunset. I liked the late fall colors of the BG in this one. Removed a few twigs.

Like the light here. The colors in the background are nice as well. Wish that perch wasn't blocked by that little twig.

Bill, a nice emotion from this frame for me.

Even though light angle appears 45 degrees or so to the visible portion of the bird, it works ok as the light is not too harsh. A little bit too dark shadows on the right side of chest maybe? And the shadow from twig takes away just a tiny bit on the body on the bird.

Not sure how I feel about the bright object on right side... kind of 50/50 as I want to just key on the sparrow and that flower (?) is just pretty large comparatively.

I like the bird but the BG and the bokeh looks odd to me, was it blurred? the object looks like something that was blurred in photoshop

Good one, Bill. These creatures sure don't sit still for long. What a fine pose he gave you to capture in that great light. Beautiful detail.

Thank you all. Yes, I did blur the objects on the right (two reddish leaves) that I found distracting. I suppose I could have just removed them altogether.

yeah blurring doesn't work at least for me, just clone out and do gentle NR.
