Captured this image of a female breeding American Goldfinch a few days ago on a backyard setup. C&C welcome.

    Geoffrey:

good look back pose, well exposed, well scaled perch. Perhaps a sliver tight framing, I might consider 10% more on left (personal taste really)

The background is a bit too uniform, almost studio like. A bit of texture or color variations would give more sense of depth.

    Cheers

Solid image of this goldfinch. Stands out nicely against all that green. The colors work well.

Geoffrey, nice angle on the bird and light seems good. Although quite uniform as Randy said, smooth consistent green bkg makes the yellow pop nicely.

For me the bird lacks in IQ - feels just a little soft. Not sure how large a crop it was?

image is too small on my 4k NEC monitor for critique, agree looks quite lacking in details but otherwise looks like a pretty frame

Thanks Randy. I agree. The background is far too uniform.
