I've been exploring some new locations this past week or so. This Grebe was the best shot of the day at a new location.

    This is very nice Paul.
Good on you for scouting out new locations.
I like the HA, the subject and the still water. The IQ is very good.
Just wish for a lower POV but I am sure you would have gone lower had you been able to.
The reflection is almost perfect except for the throat area. Not a big deal, just so close to being perfect. Had the reflection been perfect your POV would have paid off.

Thanks all...much appreciated. It was not possible to get lower as it was photographed from a bird hide looking down. I see these Grebes quite a lot at another location closer to home and have got lower to photograph them, but the light was quite harsh. Cheers.

I like the IQ, details, POV works for me and due to restrictions you couldn't do anything about that. Well done Paul.

    Paul:

Agree with the positive comments. Ironic that the nice ripples about the body are a problem in trying to capture that perfect reflection. I work very hard at achieving a POV, but know you didn't have that as an option, and have had to accept that a really low POV usually does not have a good reflection.

    Cheers

A nice capture Paul, nothing more to add other than good work playing the cards you were dealt!
