I had some great time with the Eiders last week from my usual perch at low tide in my hometown. The tide was rising quite rapidly and it was about time for the birds, and me to move to higher ground. I thought this was one was quite cute showing the wee ones. 10 mins before this shot there were 5 females on the this small 'island of seaweed covered rock' Getting the HA's was the problem...but I managed a few

Will, another interesting shot and cute as ever.

Great job getting all birds IF. What time of day was it?

There's lots of business but I'm okay with it because of the natural scene with littles. Evicting those specular highlights on bkg could be useful to offer less distraction, particularly just to left of the hen and above the chicks.

cute chicks and mom but the muddy seaweed and the BG are pretty much image killers

Neat scene here, as we do not see baby eiders that often! I'm OK with the weedy platform they are standing on, but only wish the BG was much further away - but that was out of your control anyway.

Nice to see the chicks out in the open. Wish the mom had a more alert pose. But i like the setting here.
