    This image is of a male Anhinga made up for the ladies in breeding season. Image captured at the rookery in the alligator breeding pond in Gatorland, Orlando, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, camera and lens supported by a monopod
    1/250 F/8 Matrix Metering EV +1/3 ISO 3600 Auto WB, image captured at 330mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Excellent image, although for me it's a little tight in the frame. Amazing detail, killer pose and that eye! That little? on the end of the beak is a nice touch. TFS

    I always enjoy these beautiful Anhinga closeups, and this one does the job for me as well. Maybe a bit more room top and right, but I still think it is ok as is too.

    Fantastic portrait Joe, congratulations!

    I was wondering if the whites were over processed because they look gray on the cheeks, however at the top of the head they look nice and white so it appears you nailed it.

    If you wanted to crop I might grab the middle point across the top edge and drag upwards slightly. Super great as is though :-)
