    David:

He looks quite serious about his duties. I like his intense gaze and his one legged stance.

The OOF branch to his left shows some rather nasty bokeh, that perhaps could be cleaned up or softened a bit. I might tinker with the color cast a bit, looks rather yellow to my eyes.

    Cheers

Unusual to see a Burrowing Owl perched so high! I like the downward glance, and also the texture of the bark it is perched on. I detect some colour noise, similar to the type often found when trying to lift under-exposure in post. Perhaps not the reason in your case, but that noise is still there. Good call on the vertical comp!

You have captured this BO in an unusual spot. Cool.
The IQ on the owl looks off. Was this under exposed? Colors seem weird, as though you lifted exposure ++.
The branch on the right is really weird looking as well.

Thanks to all for your very valued comments. Yes, the owl was under exposed as I exposed for the bright spots in canopy and brightened just slightly from there(in camera exposure). Exposure raised in PP as you eagle eyed pros suggest. I usually have trouble toning them down in like images and I couldn't miss this look. This branch was high and I stood at the top of one of those portable grandstands sports parks have to lessen the angle. The light was late evening and dappled through the leaves. This was created as the setting sun was covered by light clouds. I think the yellows are from the filtered light and you can notice not everywhere on the owl. And you are right, the under exposure didn't help. Thanks again for the help.

Nice to see one of these owls in a tree. The bird looking down is pretty neat.
