Default Late light oin that mosaic eye...

Back to the owl family on a clear evening. Got that mosaic eye in bright clear late sunlight. I took both this RF and my original EF 400 DO. They both have spot on and fast AF, but this zooms resolving power is an order of magnitudes better even when I get just within the DO's MFD. This is about 40% of FF and has tons of detail. I am off the sun angle to avoid shadows as the sun is about to set and very low in the sky. The bright yellows and greens were there but I toned them down some. Can't wait for longer RF glass...

    David:

Quite lovely, with soft light, beautiful OOF grasses, nice detail. IQ held up well to the large crop.

Looks good David. I like the "studio portrait" pose on this individual. Good detail with that large crop. Yes, longer focal lengths would be a bonus in these situations indeed!

Yes the eyes on these owls are very neat. I like the low angle with that out of focus foreground.
