    Default Black Tern

Another BIF image of a bird not seen that much.
    Small in the frame.
They are only in a small refuge area in Oregon, fascinating, have a flight pattern
attack sort of like Harriers I am determined to capture if I can in the next few weeks.
This is a fairly big crop , not great IQ.
Banded, they are rare in my area.

Looks great to me for a large crop. Exposure looks pretty good as you separated the eye nicely. Nice and sharp with a clean BG. TFS

very cool wing position, it does look like a substantial crop but it is sharp. dark bird against a bright BG is always a challenge and makes it tough for the bird to stand out but you did your best here

I like the small-in-frame look. These are lovely terns, and rare visitors around here as well. Hope you can get some more of him.

Hi Dan, I havent seen this species of Tern before. Great flight pose, well exposed, and I like the feather detail on the far wing.

They used to be rare but regular here, but I have not seen one in a few years. Very erratic flyers, as you describe. Looks good - IQ on the edge but still holding up.

A nice flight pose, also like the green background. I actually saw about 6 of these flying around the marsh this spring. The last few years, I only saw a couple total.
