    Default Cape Cormorant

Whilst photographing the Penquins in Cape Town at the end of last year, The Cape Cormorants were busy amongst the Penquins on the beach. I managed to separate this guy from the rest, to have a clean shot and the light has shown up the iridescence nicely. Captured late afternoon from a viewing platform. Unfortunately, this is the lowest I could go.

Excellent work all around in a difficult situation. The head-angle is perfect and I love the shadow.

Looks good to me, Stu. Very similiar to the Cormorants in Florida. Thank you for sharing.

Great portrait, sharp from tip to tail.

Nice and clean. I like the grains of sand on the tail too as it implies movement along the beach.

    Stu:

Great contrast between bird and background really makes him pop. Very clean look. And of course that killer eye.

    Well done!

The cormorant stands out great against all that white sand. Nice vertical framing as well. Detail and pose are right on.

Generally Cormorants aren't a sexy subject but you did this one justice Stu. Great job getting the whole bird in focus.
