Jon, like this one more than the previous in terms of color and vibrance. The lighting seems better and thus a little more pop.
While you can't see the beak, you can see the eye and the reflection is super. Just enough catchlight in the eye.

Super cute, wonderful scene. Bad luck with the white part of the water (I can just imagine it being green too!), but overall this works well for me. Just a sliver of canvas to fill in at left edge after you presumably rotated the canvas.

Hi Jon, it's all coming together nicely, should be good for winter too if we get some hard nights, bringing some ice....
I can see this also working as more of a portrait, 8.5x11 so it brings the subject more inline. In addition, pop a midtone TK adjustment on the subject with a Levels tweak on the Black and Gamma sliders, brings some more definition/clarity into mainly the wings and body, but avoid the eye, then peg it back to suit!!! Maybe a nice gradient for the FG.
I had thought if this was all symmetrical WOW, but here I like the fact you see the eye clearly and there is some gap between the eye and water, it's not all submerged. Not sure what you can do re the HLs on the water, if you come up, you loose the angle.

Like the moment action was captured, Jonathan. Great wings and tail positions, and very nice reflection.

Hi Jon, excellent timing for the drinking/bathing behaviour. Just enough of the head left above the water for this to work. Love the swept back wings. You have a 'dam' in your garden

Thanks to everyone for your comments as always I eagerly wait to see what you think.
Steve the dam is so high - nearly as high as some in Kruger, I think it is 25-30mm tall
, I 'll have to watch out for the rains - could be overflow!
