We decided to stop in at Little Estero on our way up the Florida Gulf Coast (March of last year), but by the time we got there it was after 9:00 am and the Florida sun was bright. As expected, it was not the bird photography mecca that it had once been. This guy was one of the few subjects, and although the image is not up to par I found it interesting because of his prey. I'm not familiar with Florida lizards - maybe someone can help - but it almost looks to me like a baby iguana. If so, the Shrike was doing his part to eliminate what has become an invasive pest in south Florida.
