    Continuing with my warbler adventures...
We have had about 3 hours of sunshine in the past 5 days but I got lucky with the sun being out early am when this black and white popped up on this alder branch.
He quickly picked a worm off the little leaf and was gone in the blink of an eye.
I clone out an OOF grass in the BG that was between the bird and the leaf.

PS. The whites were greyish on the RAW. I did not blow them out and try to recover them. This is how they looked.

    Gail:

Great timing. On first glance, I thought the bird had eaten a bit of the leaf, which I though odd!

I like the light, scale and angle of perch, sharpness, and of course the action.

Whites noted, but not an issue for me.

    Cheers

Quick reflexes to catch him at the right moment. I love the two touches of green, and the lovely light. Fairly delicate perch for a Black-and-White, which I usually think of as climbing around on large branches.

It's a lovely shot the caterpillar certainly adds.
Is it me or is the caterpillar sharp and the eye less so??

Interesting to see the prey item mid-swallow! Plus it matches the budding leaves. Super light and BG. I just got a fun session with this species recently too :-)

Hi Gail, excellent timing to have captured the worms last moments. I like the thin perch diagonally through the frame, and with the Warbler's angled pose. Good DOF throughout the image too. You used the opportunity of light nicely.

The prey matches those spring budding leaves. I like the pose and the perch. Nice background as well.

Stunningly sharp. Love the worm and the open bill. And the BKGR.
