Default Pigeon Guillemot in flight #2

This one is so sharp I have to try to not get halos when downsizing even though
no sharpening was added to RAW.
I consider this my best BIF to date considering the species and where you have to
    be to photo them.
A minus tide but you still have to go out in the surf to get close enough to shoot them on
    their feeding loops.
These are nesting Guillemots, feeding and raising chicks on the Rocky Ocean sea stacks.
Oregon surf is not gentle and is dangerous at most times. It is an Epic experience.

Lovely shot Dan. and great story to go with it. I hope you are managing to protect your gear from the salt water.
I'm guessing that it is a bit of motion blur on the ends of the wings, or is it just DOF limits. At those settings you could go way up in speed to probably stop that.
Please post a scenic from there.

Dan, the flare toward the camera and melty bkg, super nice.

Great first world photography problem when we have to worry about too much sharpness

Terrific flight shot, with great flight angle, lovely water BG. Well done to get the shot, and I'm glad you survived the experience. Yes, I too would like to see a scenic shot, but I'm sure you were concentrating on the birds.

Pretty nice, Dan. Beautiful wing position and head angle. I am not familiar with the bird but the colors look good, nice background. Thank you for sharing.
