    Here's a huge bird with a different look. It was sitting by the trail I walked on in one afternoon.

    S5, Nikon 70-300 f4.5-5.6 VR @ 300mm; f8 1/500 sec ISO 400, no flash, manual exposure mode; hand-held. Cropped (both in-camera and on computer), sharpened, touched up the shadow area.

    I like the detail in the face and head. wish there was a catch light in the eye and more detail in the body feathers.

    Hi Desmond !!!! Agree with carole one the feather detail but find this image very appealing I like the different shades of white and their shapes, sharp around the eye and good bg !!! Excellent !!! I like it a lot !!!

    I too like this image for the same reasons as Al. The detail in the face is super! Love the look and feel of this one.
