Eurasian Oystercatcher, from Flatey Island last year. The male Oystercatcher would come in from his ocean foray and give the oyster to his mate, who would make it into bite sized pieces and feed it to their chick (or else she would sometimes eat it herself). I believe this is the female.
Excellent exposure and detail on the bird. Head angle is money, and the food and raised foots add interest. I'd like to see a slightly wider crop with more room above and below if you have the canvas and it doesn't add distraction. He/she
feels cramped as is.
This reminds me so much of Flatey! I knew before opening the thumbnail that this is where you shot the image.
Excellent IQ. Exposure spot on. Nice to see the food in the beak.
Do you have bit more room at the top?
A very nice image!
Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. I do agree that the pano crop made her feel a little cramped. Here is a 3:2 ratio with room added at the top and a sliver at the bottom. I also added a touch of Vibrance, although I'm not sure I see any difference in that regard.
