This non-breeding Great Egret was taken recently in between photographing Bee-eaters. The high key is intentional. Cheers.

Love the high key treatment and those translucent primaries. Nice and sharp with detail (EXP for the whites) the whole way. Getting that light through those wings and the tail makes this canvas for me. TFS

You got the eye nicely, but the overhead shooting angle means focus and interest fall-off from there. The light through the wings is nice and minimizes shadows.

Thank you David for the +ve feedback...always appreciated. Dorian...this was actually a "grab" shot...as I was photographing Bee-eaters when I saw it fly over, so had to change settings quickly. It came out better than I thought...lol. Yes, a better angle would be preferred. Cheers.

The high key treatment works well here. I like the transparent view of those wings.

I actually do like this a lot. The wings look great! The feet do look like there is some sort of haze on them, so some darkening of there would be beneficial.

    Thank you John.
Daniel: Much appreciated. The comment re the feet is good...I didn't like the look of the feet either, but your suggestion makes sense. Cheers.

Nice one. I love the light coming through the wings. Do you know the scientific name of this species?
